This faster pace is due to the fact that students are able to test out of basic nursing courses and automatically take advanced nursing courses. The program structure is very similar to a traditional BSN degree program. Students will be expected to take part in a variety of traditional college courses. These courses will include several math courses, English classes, social science courses and communication courses. While these courses are considered traditional college courses, students still need to succeed in them. Prospective LPN to BSN program students still need to maintain a 2.5 GPA to be considered for the advanced nursing courses. The higher the GPA the better chance a student has of being accepted to the LPN to BSN program.
Students who wish to apply to an LPN to BSN program in the state of Maryland will need to meet several admission requirements to be considered for the program. Prospective students will need to submit proof of a high school diploma or GED certificate, SAT or ACT scores, and a completed admissions packet.
