To qualify to become an LPN by examination in Nebraska, an individual must:

- If an individual is a graduate of a foreign nursing program, he or she must pass an English proficiency examination before being allowed to take the NCLEX
- Pay the $200.00 NCLEX testing fee
- Provide proof of age and citizenship

- Have successfully completed a state-approved LPN program
- Provide proof of age and citizenship
- Be currently or previously licensed in another US state or jurisdiction
- Meet one of the following requirements for continuing education
- He or she must have graduated from a state-approved nursing program within that past 2 years
- Practiced nursing for at least 500 years within the past 5 years
- Completed a review course of study in the past 5 years
- Have passed the LPN NCLEX examination
