Pennsylvania LPN Training
These days, it can be scary to think about leaving a job to go back to school. Likewise, deciding on a career path in a recession can be overwhelming for high school graduates. Pennsylvania LPN training offers a secure and exciting career path in the healthcare industry.
Pennsylvania LPN training is a specialized education course designed to help individuals become licensed practical nurses. In a health care setting, there are a variety of different medical professionals that attend to the patients. In most cases it is the licensed practical nurse that is most involved with the individual and their family. For those who enjoy working with people on a personal level and have the ability to perform in a stressful working environment, this might be a good match.
Becoming an LPN in Pennsylvania
In PA, one can become an LPN either by examination or by endorsement. In order to become licensed by examination, one must be at least 18 years of age and have achieved a high school diploma or GED. He or she must also have completed a Board-approved education program for practical nursing that consists of at least 1500 hours or no less than 1 year. Then, he or she must submit the Pennsylvania Exam/TPP application to the Board of Nursing and then register and take the NCLEX.
Licensure by Endorsement
In order to become licensed by endorsement, one must be licensed in another state or jurisdiction by an education program and exam equivalent to the one used by PA. If the applicant has allowed his or her license to lapse for 5 years or more, he or she must fulfill continuing competency requirements before becoming licensed in Pennsylvania.
applicants can also apply for licensure by endorsement so long as they have completed the NCLEX in other state or jurisdiction. In addition, the individual's education must be deemed equivalent by the Board based on the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS) evaluation.
Renewing an LPN License
The renewal period for LPNs in Pennsylvania is 2 years, with licenses expiring on June 30th of the even numbered years. There is currently no practice hour or continuing education hour requirement.
On-Campus & Online LPN Schools
Like in other parts of the country, LPNs in Pennsylvania work directly with patients, clients, and residents.
LPN duties include performing basic diagnostic tests, administering medication to patients, giving shots and injections, obtaining patients' vital signs, as well as many other important responsibilities.
As a Pennsylvania LPN, you might specialize in obstetrics, pediatrics, surgery or psychiatry or another nursing specialty that interests you.

Why Online LPN Classes?
Being a licensed practical nurse is a great career. But many working adults who want to become an LPN have an extremely busy schedule - balancing a full-time job, family commitments and other personal responsibilities. The traditional classroom setting offered by most local LPN schools doesn't offer the same flexibility as taking their LPN classes online.
Online programs allow students to fit their education into their already busy schedule - studying and taking exams when it's convenient for them. LPN students can access their online classroom 24 hours per day / seven days per week.
Also, taking LPN nursing courses online saves students even more time, as online students don't need to commute to school. Online schools enable busy people to get LPN training, without interfering with their current job and personal life.
