Ohio CNA Training
Although economic experts are saying that the worst of the recession is over, it's little conciliation to those that are still struggling to find work after being laid off. Anyone considering returning to school to train for a new career may want to think about Ohio CNA classes. Designed to enable students to become a certified nursing assistant, this training could be a great opportunity to achieve a new career.
Certified nursing assistants are responsible for working closely with doctors and nurses to provide a higher level of care to their patients. Common responsibilities include recording patient medical histories, taking vital signs, preparing patients for treatment, and educating individuals about preventative care techniques.
Becoming a CNA in Ohio

After the Training is Complete
Following program completion, he or she must pass the state's CNA test. There is a 4 month grace period during which an individual can work as a Nursing Assistant after training before he or she is required to take the certification exam and become registered. The grace period cannot be renewed if the individual fails to pass the exam during the allowed 3 tries.
Once registered, a CNA must work at least 8 hours doing nursing-related services for pay in a 2 year licensing period to keep his or her status with the Registry. Otherwise, he or she must re-train and re-test.
If a CNA is registered and in good standing in another state, he or she can apply to be a CNA in Ohio by submitting an Ohio Nurse Aide Reciprocity Request form.
