Anyone who wants to pursue a career that will allow them to be financially secure as well as intellectually challenged might want to pursue Kentucky CNA classes.

The first thing one should know about becoming a certified nursing assistant is that he or she needs to attend an approved training course, which means one needs to explore options for Kentucky CNA classes. There are many different ways to get the training you need to become a certified nursing assistant. You can enroll in programs offered by a local community college, vocational school, hospital, or Red Cross chapter.

Becoming a CNA in Kentucky

In Kentucky, a CNA is referred as a State Registered Nurse Aide (SRNA). In order to become an SRNA, one must first complete a state-accepted training course. After completing the course, the individual must pass a competency evaluation that is made up of both a written exam and a clinical skills demonstration in order to be registered on the Kentucky Nurse Aide Registry (KNAR).

Renewing a CNA License

The KNAR registration must be renewed every two years. In order to qualify, an SRNA must perform at least 8 paid hours of nursing work.

Licensure by Reciprocity

A CNA who is listed on another states registry may request and obtain reciprocity as long as his or her certification is active.
