Tennessee CNA Training

It's no secret that the economy has been going through a slump, and many businesses that were actively seeking applicants a few years ago have been forced to put a hold on any new hires, and may even be downsizing to a smaller staff. It might seem like there is no hope for finding an exciting new career in these tough times, but it's important to realize opportunities are still out there.

Tennessee CNA classes have helped thousands of people embark on exciting new careers in the health care industry. For anyone who has always been interested in helping people live healthier lives, CNA classes could be great option.

Tennessee CNA training courses are designed to provide students with all the education and skills you need to become a certified nursing assistant. Although doctors and nurses are responsible for performing examinations, diagnosing patients, and prescribing treatment plans, it is the medical assistants that help them carry out these tasks in the most efficient manner possible. With a growing number of elderly patients needed long term care services, hospitals are scrambling to find qualified applicants that can support these medical professionals.

To become a CNA in Tennessee, an individual must complete a state-approved nurse aide training program and pass the state CNA evaluation within 24 months of completing the training course.

If a student is currently enrolled in an LPN or RN program, he or she may is eligible to take the state CNA examination if he or she submits documentation proving that they have completed the basic nursing fundamentals and skills that are covered in the CNA training program.

Licensure by Reciprocity

An individual who is currently listed as "active" and is considered to be in good standing on another state's CNA registry apply for reciprocity. If an individual is a medic trained in the military, he or she may challenge the test by submitting a copy of his or her DD-214.

CNA certification is valid for 2 years and then must be renewed by the individual submitting proof that he or she has worked at least 8 paid hours as a CNA in the past 24 months. If an individual's certification has been expired for over 2 years, he or she must retrain and retest in order to regain "active" status in the registry and be eligible to work as a CNA.
