Arizona CNA Classes

Arizona CNA Training

For some people, it can be very difficult to provide for themselves and their families working in a dead end job that pays a small amount of money to work long hours. In order to make more money, these individuals should pursue an education that will make it possible for them to compete in today's crowded job market.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the demand for certified nursing assistants is expected to grow much faster than the national average for all occupations over the next ten years. This means there will almost be a twenty percent increase in the number of positions available for those that have completed Arizona CNA Classes.

When a person is struggling just to make ends meet, he or she may not want to make an investment in more schooling. The main thing for these people to consider is that this investment can pay off by providing not only a more lucrative career than they could have otherwise pursed, but also a more fulfilling one.

With the increased demand of an older generation, hospitals are struggling to keep up with the number of people that need treatment. Certified nursing assistants can provide aide to doctors and nurses, by performing simple health assessment tasks.

Becoming a CNA in Arizona

In order to take the CNA examination and become certified to work as CNA in Arizona, an individual must complete and submit a nursing assistant certification application. Then the prospective CNA must pass both the written and manual exams. The next step is a fingerprint test, to determine whether the applicant has a criminal history. If convictions are found, there will be an investigation which can take anywhere from 4 to 6 months.

A nurse must show one of the following in order to take the examination:

  • A copy of the "certificate of completion" received from a nursing assistant training program that has been approved by the Arizona Board of Nursing.
  • Proof that the applicant has completed either a 120 or 75 hour nursing assistant program which has been approved by another state or territory, and proof that he or she worked at least 45 hours as a nursing assistant.
  • Proof that the applicant has graduated from an RN or LPN program that is approved by the state of Arizona or holds a valid RN/LPN license, or meets educational requirements for RN/LPN licensure in Arizona. An applicant meeting this criterion would take only the written exam.
