Becoming an LPN in Idaho

In Idaho, one can become licensed either by examination or endorsement. The first step in becoming an LPN is to complete an approved nursing education program. The exam used by Idaho is the NPLEX.

One can also become an LPN by endorsement or equivalence. In order to do so, the individual must have been licensed in another state for a minimum of 2 years prior to applying. He or she must have completed a nursing education program that is approved in another state or jurisdiction and have already passed the NCLEX or SBTPE. The person will be granted a single-state licensure in Idaho.

Renewing an LPN License

Idaho LPN licenses expire on August 31 of even years. Individuals who want to renew their licenses prior to the expiration date must pay a fee of $90.00. An individual whose license has be expired for more than one year may not renew his or her license.
