Mississippi LPN Training

Mississippi LPN training is a specialized course of education used to prepare individuals to become licensed practical nurses. While doctors and nurses shoulder most of the responsibility for diagnosis and treatment in a hospital setting, it is LPNs and medical assisting staff that are often charged with carrying out these treatment plans and making the patient as comfortable as possible in the process. For those who have always enjoyed medical science and like communicating with and helping people, this could be a good career path

Becoming an LPN in Mississippi

In order to become licensed in Mississippi by examination, one must submit the following to the Mississippi Board of Nursing:

  • Licensure application
  • Official transcript with graduation date and degree
  • NCLEX Registration
  • Criminal Background Check
  • Authorization to Test (ATT) for the NCLEX
  • The licensure exam used in Mississippi is the NCLEX. Individuals must pass this test before becoming licensed.

In order to become licensed by endorsement in Mississippi, one must hold a valid license in another state or jurisdiction. This state is a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact. Nurses in compact states must register in the primary state of residence, but can obtain multi-state privilege without additional licensure in other compact states.

Renewing an LPN License

Mississippi LPN licenses are renewed every 2 years on odd-numbered years.

Why Online LPN Classes?

Being a licensed practical nurse is a great career. But many working adults who want to become an LPN have an extremely busy schedule - balancing a full-time job, family commitments and other personal responsibilities. The traditional classroom setting offered by most local LPN schools doesn't offer the same flexibility as taking their LPN classes online.

Online programs allow students to fit their education into their already busy schedule - studying and taking exams when it's convenient for them. LPN students can access their online classroom 24 hours per day / seven days per week.

Also, taking LPN nursing courses online saves students even more time, as online students don't need to commute to school. Online schools enable busy people to get LPN training, without interfering with their current job and personal life.
