MSN Programs in Utah

Utah MSN Programs

MSN programs in Utah are a great way for an individual to set him or herself apart from the competition. Though this more advanced degree is not necessary in order to become an RN, going the extra mile can create greater opportunities for employment and the chance to earn a higher salary.

Applicants can choose from different MSN programs in Utah based on the specialty area of interest. The main sectors of the nursing world involve business, research, and education. Students can also sometimes combine the master's level nursing training with another degree program in order to maximize versatility. It is important to evaluate all program options and choose that which best fits.

Online vs. Traditional Programs

There are many options for individuals wishing to pursue an MSN degree in Utah. For those who prefer an environment that allows interaction with instructors and fellow students, a traditional classroom environment may be the best option. Stevens-Henager College is one example of a college with a campus in Utah that offers this degree, with the option to study nursing administration or nursing education (online only). The Salt Lake City/Murray campus offers this program, which can be completed in 15 months. Though there is a physical campus, the program is completely online. The curriculum consists of 14 courses and a total of 59 credits.

For those who would rather pursue an MSN from an online program rather than a physical campus, there are many options available. The University of Phoenix is one example of an accredited online program. This particular university offers many different specialty areas, including Informatics, Nursing & Healthcare Education, Master of Science in Nursing/Master of Business Administration-Health Care Management Dual Degree, and Family Nurse Practitioner. The MSN program curriculum varies in length depending on the pathway chosen.
