Nevada LPN training is a brief and specialized education program that helps individuals become licensed practical nurses. Licensed practical nurses are trained to provide a high level of bedside care to patients, and can make an enormous difference in the quality of patient care.

Becoming an LPN in Nevada

In order to become an LPN in Nevada, one must first complete an approved nursing education program. After completing this training, one must register for and pass the NCLEX-PN. In addition, he or she must have a valid social security number and submit a fingerprint card to the Board of Nursing for clearance.

If an applicant is the graduate of a foreign nursing school, he or she must submit the following additional items to the board in order to be licensed:

  • Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS) CES Professional Report
  • Evidence of English Proficiency
  • Verification of licensure in the country where nursing school was completed (if applicable)

Individuals who are licensed in another state or jurisdiction can become licensed in Nevada by endorsement. These individuals must meet the basic requirements for licensure described above. In addition, the following must be submitted to the board:

  • Copy of diploma, certificate, or official transcript issued directly from the registrar
  • All necessary requirements outlined above for foreign educated nurses (if applicable)
  • Official verification or endorsement from original state of licensure by endorsement
