Florida LPN Training

The key to financial security is to pursue a career in an industry that is guaranteed to continue growing for many years to come. Anyone who likes working with people and has always been interested in science and health technology might want to think about enrolling in Florida LPN training.

Florida LPN training provides individuals with the education necessary to work as an LPN. Licensed practical nurses are responsible for providing bedside care to patients in nursing homes, hospitals, mental health facilities, and other environments where people come to seek medical care.

Becoming an LPN in Florida

In Florida, individuals can become licensed either by examination or endorsement. The exam used by Florida to license LPNs is the NCLEX.

In Florida, individuals are eligible to take the LPN examination if they are:

  • Practical nursing or registered nursing graduates of state-approved nursing programs
  • Graduates of an MSN or higher program (if they received equivalent education)
  • Individuals who have completed coursework that is equivalent to practical nurse training in a registered nursing program
  • Registered nurses from Canada who passed the Canadian Nurses Association Testing Service Examination after August 8, 1995.

To take the NCLEX examination, all applicants must register and pay the $200.00 fee.

In order to become licensed by endorsement in Florida, one must have an active license in another state or jurisdiction. He or she must have worked as an LPN for 2 of the past 3 years.

As a Florida LPN, you might specialize in obstetrics, pediatrics, surgery or psychiatry or another nursing specialty that interests you.

Why Online LPN Classes?

Being a licensed practical nurse is a great career. But many working adults who want to become an LPN have an extremely busy schedule - balancing a full-time job, family commitments and other personal responsibilities. The traditional classroom setting offered by most local LPN schools doesn't offer the same flexibility as taking their LPN classes online.

Online programs allow students to fit their education into their already busy schedule - studying and taking exams when it's convenient for them. LPN students can access their online classroom 24 hours per day / seven days per week.

Also, taking LPN nursing courses online saves students even more time, as online students don't need to commute to school. Online schools enable busy people to get LPN training, without interfering with their current job and personal life.
