Becoming a CNA in Oklahoma

In order to work as a CNA in Oklahoma, an individual must:

  • Be an Oklahoma resident
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have passed a criminal background check and registry screening (paid for by the student)
  • Have a satisfactory Tuberculosis test (paid for by the student)

The Oklahoma CNA course consists of:

  • 72 hours of classroom training
  • 24 hours of supervised clinic training

The individual must:

  • Complete the two weeks of training
  • Pass both the written and skills exams
  • Work in a SoonerCare long-term care facility for 12 months within the next 24 months
  • Submit an employee tracking form to his or her training facility and verify acceptance
