Florida CNA Training

The United States is currently going through one of the most economically challenging periods since the Great Depression. Many people are out of work and wondering how they are going to piece together their careers so that they can continue to provide for their families. Anyone who wants to make sure that they have a job waiting for them when they graduate may want to consider enrolling in Florida CNA classes.

For someone considering Florida CNA classes, it's important to become more informed about the job that that they'll be preparing for and the type of facilities at which they can apply once they've completed the training. Certified nursing assistants are responsible for providing support in a variety of health care settings, including mental health facilities, nursing homes, schools, private practices and public clinics.

Becoming a CNA in Florida

In order to become a CNA by examination, one must be at least 18 years of age and have obtained either a high school diploma or the equivalent. The individual must then complete a training program that has been developed by the Enterprise Florida Education Partnership Grant. After achieving at least the minimum score in the training course, the individual must pass a competency test, which consists of both a written exam and a skills demonstration.

Renewing a CNA License

CNA certification in Florida expires every 2 years. In order to renew their certification and remain on the registry, CNAs in Florida are required to have performed nursing-related services for compensation within the past 2 years.
