Georgia LPN training courses are designed to give a person the skills and knowledge they’ll need to provide a superior level of care to patients in a health care setting. LPNs are responsible for providing bedside care, educating patients about preventative care, and helping patients communicate requests and questions to their doctors and nurses.
Becoming an LPN in Georgia
An individual can become an LPN in Georgia by endorsement if he or she holds a license in another state. To be eligible to work as an LPN in Georgia, the individual must submit an Application for Licensure by Endorsement, a bank check or money order to cover the fee, and he or she must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have graduated from high school or received a GED or a recognized equivalent
- Have completed a board-approved practical nursing program or Army 68WM6
- Have passed the NCLEX
- Submit proof of license of current state of licensure
- Submit proof of license of original state of licensure
- Submit proof that he or she has worked as an LPN in the 5 years preceding the application
The Georgia Board of Nursing does not issue temporary licenses, so an individual must be licensed in order to work as an LPN in Georgia. All Georgia LPN licenses expire March 31 of odd years.
