These basic tasks are also combined with many classes focusing on theoretical principals that can help you perform many other functions including providing a patient's family with support and leading a team as a head nurse.

For those who already have nursing training and are working as an RN, a two year program known as a RN to BSN program is available. These programs are often available over the internet and focus mainly on the leadership skills and theoretical principals taught through the traditional four year course. Completing one of the RN to BSN programs in Michigan will let a nursing professional earn their Bachelor's degree, which will provide them with many opportunities for career advancement that would not be available without the BSN. And since they can be online courses, earning them in your spare time is very possible.

A little known fact is that nurses can choose to specialize in certain areas, just like doctors. Certain BSN programs in Michigan may allow you to specialize in prenatal care or in pediatrics, for example.
